There was much reaction on my previous story (see below) about Sean Avery and his run in with NY Islanders defenseman James Wisniewski. The more I thought about it, the more I realized this was more and more just another sports love story. Like the guy for Boise State who proposed on one knee after scoring a touchdown in the BCS game.
Or the fans caught making love on the Jumbotron during the Toronto Blue Jays game. Was this simply a genuine gesture of love between two grown men who happen to be playing on opposite teams in the NHL? Hmmmm? Maybe? I know that it used to be a gesture of love from my wife to me many many years ago. And in a game full of aggression and violence, why not? Why not embrace what we witnessed live yesterday? Then again during the SLOW MOTION instant replay as what it was on the surface, a wonderful moment between 2 consenting adults. As Larry Flynt would say ” .”
Well I’m not sure what he’d say. Ask him. God I love hockey. Still no response from the Islanders front office on my email on how to explain what happened to my 6 year old. He was showing off his new “Hockey Move” at football practice last night much to the horror of all the hot mom’s there.
