Now that Cleveland has a winning hockey team (or sports team for that matter) I felt it time to test the PHD of hockey world, Canada, on their knowledge of Cleveland. They passed, I think. Actual email with the MOOSE:

Subject: Lake Erie MonstersMiss Wendy,
Thank you so much for your time. I was planning to bring my 4 children (triplets and 1 boy) to their first Moose game this weekend as I see you are battling the Lake Erie Monsters for what appears to be first place. I was wondering if you can help me? My children are young and I cannot find the city of “Lake Erie” anywhere. The girls are 3 years 5 months, 2 days, 1 hour and 40 seconds, 1 hour 5 minutes and 33 seconds and 1 hour 12 minutes as of the time I type this email. My son is 5.
My concerns are two fold:
- MONSTERS. Are they scary? Do they present in a manner that would frighten young children? We are also good Christian, I’ll assume that they are not “satanic” type monsters?
- Lake Erie? Where the heck is this? I looked all over Canada and cannot find this city. I guess I’m just dying to know.
Forgive me as we are new fans to hockey as I’ve dedicated my life to making better paper labels. Now that I got a promotion we can finally start coming and supporting the team. Also, are the truenorth related to the service stations I’ve seen before?
Regards,
Rocque
RESPONSE FROM THE MOOSE!!!!From: Robert TDate: February 17, 2011 1:45:15 PMTo: RocqueSubject: RE: Lake Erie MonstersHello and thanks for your interest in our team and league. The Lake Erie Monsters play out of Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland is on Lake Erie so they have adopted the name of the lake, and the monster is a lake monster, like the Loch Ness Monster or Ogopogo. There logo is not satanic but the image is that of a monster.True North Sports and Entertainment is unrelated to any service stations.
I hope this helps…enjoy the game.

Long Island, NY – Good news comes from an NHL game that featured over 300 combined penalty minutes, for suspended Islander “tough guy” Trevor Gillies.
UPS has hired on the journeyman during his 9 game suspension. “Hey, it’s a job, and quite frankly this is really where I belong anyway.” said a realistic Gillies.
This Islanders are looking to fill the void left by Trevor by calling up local high school football players with Mohawks. “Look, we really don’t give a shit if they can skate at this point. We just need a guy who can get us 1-2 points a season and kick the living crap out of anyone who comes near our star players.” said Islanders GM Garth Brooks.
New York has come under fire this season not only for sucking but also for not hiring Rocco Tremaglio as their head coach. “I’m not upset the team didn’t hire me, but it’s just the way they handled the interview.” said a somewhat relieved Tremaglio. I’m not saying I didn’t want the gig, but looking back, I’m not sure it was right for me.
UPS also left open the notion of brining Gillies back during the Christmas rush. “The guy looks good in Brown, he’s a gamer, and let’s face it, he’s very good with tape.” said UPS spokesman Michael Oxbig.
Enjoy the design, let us know what you think. Big thanks to Hockey-Community.com for the inspiration and help on this. (know this, there are MAJOR cultural, safety and logistical issues I must overcome before confirming trip.) Beautiful article written by Hockey-Community about event. But am exhausting efforts. To: fino_taza_bryal@hotmail.comYoussef,
I was wondering if it is safe for me and possible to come visit your country and play a game of hockey with you guys. To symbolize peace and harmony. I believe hockey is the perfect sport (as are many others) to symbolize this belief. I would also try to get a couple others to come with me. What are your thoughts?Regards,Rocque TremOn Feb 5, 2011, at 12:55 PM, Youssef Ossama wrote:yeah every think is nice , Ice-hockey here in Egypt is rare sport , there’s no union for ice-hockey nor international team here , but we created our ice-hockey team 8 years ago and nw we are professional players , but we steel playing friendly matches every week ,thanks you for askingyoussef> From: rocque@dadadamedia.com

I’ve met many celebrities over my career. Honestly, only a handful were memorable. Like when I beat Daniel Negreanu in a Vegas strip club at Rock, Paper, Scissors for a $100 bet.
Today, I met the Washington Capitals superstar forward, Brooks Laich at a business meeting. The first thing I noticed was that he made very certain to notice and remember EVERYONE’s name that he interacted with. When we did our work, he was extremely insightful. A natural communicator and a man (boy to me LOL) who has a command of the room. All of this while maintaining a completely, grounded sense of his celebrity. Which if you live in DC is A lister. What can I say, hockey players are cool as fuck and he proved it. He was also smart as hell, polite and extremely genuine.
Just think of LeBron James and take a 180 degree turn. Thanks BL-21, good times bro. Plus he’s a GnR fan. BAM!
