First off, I hope I find you and your friends and family safe.  I’m writing you from the USA.  Obviously, we have very little real comprehension of what is going on in your country, but I was hoping as part of the hockey fraternity, we can try to get a clear understanding. 

If you are able, can you offer some insight into what is going on and what it’s like to be in the middle of it?  Also, I’m guessing it’s secondary but can you tell me about hockey in Egypt and how, if any, things have changed during the unrest.  Perhaps its still able to bring you some sort of normalcy and peace.  Please know that we care over here.

IT DID WORK!!!! The response below from my new hockey friend, Youssef Ossama seems to find them well.  His slightly broken english seemed positive and upbeat.  Most of all, its clear that they love hockey and are happy.  Which makes me happy.  Actual email:
