Hockey baby, hockey……

Today , some good friends of mine had their first child.  He sent me a photo of him holding his beautiful little girl wearing his NHL jersey.  Now the say babies remember stuff from the time they are conceived.   Someone just told me that serial killers remember failed abortion attempts.  I don’t believe it, but it’s a pretty funny story.

Back on track here.  I have 4 children.  There is nothing like seeing a new human being brought into this world.  To try and explain the feelings would be pointless.  You either get it or you don’t.  But for that baby girl to be exposed to the National Hockey League (even though it’s slowly being ruined by a bunch of suits) on day one brings tears to my eyes.

Birth=possibilities.  Possibilities=unlimited.  “Who knows, maybe she’ll be the first female President?”  I remember someone saying about one my daughters.  “Fuck that,” I replied “maybe she’ll be the leading goal scorer in the NHL?”   Well, my daughter broke her leg at age 4 during ICE SKATING LESSONS

"Daddy, I want, I want........"

and now won’t even consider going on the ice.  So that’s out.  But with every new birth, comes a new maybe.  And with every maybe, comes hope.

And most of the time, but not always, with hope comes disappointment and mediocrity and great, deep depression.  LOL.  I’m just messing with you DH fans. Lift your glasses up high and toast all the new births and wish them, and especially my buddy A.M. good luck. You’re in for a long ride buddy.  Get her on skates asap!

About hockeyrocque

It will happen. Cleveland will win a Stanley Cup before any other major sport's trophy. While we admit we are not hockey bloggers that take themselves seriously, we do expect that ESPN hockey coverage needs challenged. It's time people take hockey seriously, and it ain't happening here. Great hockey, stats, scores, highlights. Um no. LOL
